Associate Director, Solution and Delivery Lead (SDL)

Overview

In this role you lead end-to-end delivery of complex RWE engagements, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and quality results within IQVIA standards. You own study-level client relationships and drive cross-functional execution across epidemiology, biostatistics, data management, and regulatory functions. You’ll manage risks, shape solutions, and contribute to proposals and improvement of RWE delivery practices. This position offers impact through leading large studies and partnering with clients to advance real-world evidence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex RWE engagements (observational studies, registries, database analyses, chart reviews, integrated evidence planning).
  • Own and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, resourcing, and budgets to ensure quality and cost-conscious delivery.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight to cross-functional teams (epidemiology, biostatistics, data management, medical writing, regulatory/ethics, vendors).
  • Drive execution across the full project lifecycle (startup, operationalization, tool/EDC implementation, close-out).
  • Identify, assess, and manage complex risks with independently designed mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure deliverables meet IQVIA quality standards, SOPs, and regulatory/data privacy requirements.
  • Lead internal and client governance meetings with status reporting and issue documentation.
  • Serve as primary senior client contact, managing expectations at operational and strategic levels.
  • Support solution or account leaders with delivery insights for broader planning.
  • Contribute to proposals, scope development, feasibility assessments, and bid defenses.
  • Apply knowledge of the IQVIA RWE portfolio to support integrated client-focused solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across RWE delivery practices.
  • Provide mentoring and informal leadership to Project Managers and Associate Project Managers.
  • Model strong project leadership and client-centered behaviours.
Key requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Typically 5–8+ years of project management experience in RWE, observational research, late-phase research, or healthcare consulting.
  • Proven success managing large or complex RWE engagements with significant client interaction.
  • Strong understanding of real-world study designs, data sources, and regulatory/ethics frameworks.
