In this role you lead and shape the urban drainage modelling capability within WSP’s water team, guiding technical delivery and influencing project outcomes for major clients. You will deepen your technical expertise while developing others and expanding the team’s impact across a global network. You’ll engage with clients, contribute to growth, and represent WSP at industry events, shaping the future of water resilience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development of the urban drainage modelling capability to stay ahead of methods, tools, and standards
  • Support the team lead with daily management of the technical delivery team
  • Provide authoritative technical input on urban drainage projects in collaboration with the wastewater team
  • Apply independent professional judgement to solve complex engineering challenges and drive innovation
  • Build strong client relationships and facilitate project meetings with stakeholders
  • Contribute to business development, proposals and strategic growth opportunities
  • Represent WSP in industry forums and conferences
  • Share knowledge to develop the wider water team
Key requirements
  • A relevant degree and chartered, or significantly progressed on the journey toward qualification with ICE, IEI, IoW or CIWEM
  • Experience of wastewater hydraulic modelling (InfoWorks ICM) and ability to review others’ outputs
  • Working knowledge of Water Industry Specifications, Code of Practice for Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage Systems and relevant British Standards
