Overview

As Electrical Associate Director in the Data Centres Market Sector, you will lead electrical design across the project lifecycle for hyperscale data centers, shaping power architectures and resilience. You will mentor a technical team and drive strategy, winning work and delivering low‑carbon, efficient outcomes. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams across the UK, Europe, and globally to ensure compliant, integrated designs. This role combines technical leadership with client engagement in a fast‑growing market, offering meaningful impact on scalable infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Own electrical design across feasibility to handover, including procurement support and commissioning
  • Define power architectures (utility intake, MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, STS, busway, earthing, lighting)
  • Lead power systems studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc‑flash, harmonic analysis) using ETAP/SKM
  • Integrate monitoring and controls (BMS/EPMS/SCADA), metering, and resilience features aligned to availability targets
  • Embed decarbonization and energy efficiency (high‑efficiency UPS, advanced controls, heat recovery, demand response, on‑site renewables)
  • Assure compliance with IEC/BS/EN and NEC/NFPA, client specs and AECOM procedures
  • Coordinate multi‑disciplinary interfaces (mechanical, structural, architectural, fire/life safety, security, ICT) to deliver integrated designs
Key requirements
  • Hyperscale and/or multi‑site program experience
  • Strong background in electrical project delivery for Data Centres and Mission Critical Environments
  • Proven DC project leadership experience in UK & preferably across EMEA
  • Demonstrated client facing and work winning capabilities
  • Excellent team leadership and development ability
  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical design interfaces for Data Centres
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing project financials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good financial understanding to support project success
