Associate Enterprise Architect

In this role you help shape HSBC UK’s technology landscape through enterprise architecture. You collaborate with senior architects, learn governance and portfolio management, and gradually lead architecture analysis and roadmaps. You will support technology strategies, risk tracking and application rationalisation across brands, contributing to the bank’s larger mission of enabling growth and prosperity. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to translate business strategy into actionable architecture decisions, bringing impact at scale.

- Manage and improve the UK application and technology portfolio
- Maintain architecture data including ownership, lifecycle, dependencies, and risks
- Support portfolio reviews, rationalisation and decommissioning plans
- Contribute to architecture views, standards, and roadmaps
- Prepare materials for governance forums with decisions and action logs
- Track decisions, risks, exceptions, waivers, and dependencies; escalate issues as needed
- Collaborate with business, engineering, data, security, risk and control teams on proposed tech changes
- Research emerging technologies and communicate potential impact to UK Technology
- Professional experience in software engineering, infrastructure, cloud, data, cybersecurity, application support or technology delivery
- Understanding of UK banking products, operations, regulation and technology
- Organisational skills to evidence-based recommendations
- Motivation for a long-term career in enterprise architecture and learning governance methods
- Ability to connect business strategy, technology, data, applications, risk and governance
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
