Overview

In this role, you support Platform Owners to shape roadmaps and prioritise improvements across Network Services' LAN, WAN, and cloud networking platforms. You’ll translate user needs and performance insights into tangible changes that enhance resilience, security and service outcomes. You work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure backlog items align with business value and long-term platform strategy. This is an opportunity to contribute to platform ownership and continuous improvement at scale within HMRC.

Responsibilities
  • Support Platform Owners in maintaining roadmaps and backlogs aligned with user needs and business value
  • Prioritise platform backlog items, lifecycle work, remediation and continuous improvement actions
  • Maintain platform plans, risk and dependency visibility and operational considerations
  • Identify opportunities to improve user experience, service quality and operational control across Network Services platforms
  • Maintain asset information and dependency data to inform roadmap and prioritisation decisions
  • Support lab/test environments to explore changes and validate improvements
  • Gather and analyse performance measures, user feedback and service insights for roadmap decisions
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to align delivery with priorities and service outcomes
  • Engage stakeholders to understand demands and inform platform planning and service improvement
  • Support root cause analysis, change-related activity and learning for platform improvements
  • Contribute to a culture of product-thinking and ownership across Network Services
Key requirements
  • Experience in IT/infrastructure or network services environment
  • Experience supporting platform/product/service improvement initiatives including planning and backlog management
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple activities and priorities
  • Experience using performance data, service insights, or asset information to inform decisions
  • Experience working collaboratively with suppliers and internal teams
  • Good communication skills to present information and support decision-making
