I’m currently looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer, (Playwright and TypeScript) to join a growing software development team based in Birmingham, with a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong automation background who enjoys working with modern technologies and wants to have a real impact on software quality and delivery.

The role will involve:

  • Creating and maintaining automated tests against business requirements
  • Executing automated regression testing
  • Functional and regression testing of code and configuration changes
  • Supporting production releases
  • Developing QA processes, documentation and knowledge resources
  • Conducting exploratory testing within an agile environment
  • Working closely with Development, DevOps and Client Delivery teams
  • Identifying, documenting and helping resolve defects
  • Contributing to automation strategy and continuous improvement across the QA function

Experience required:

  • 3+ years’ experience in QA Automation within a software development environment
  • Strong TypeScript coding experience
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright, particularly API testing, Page Object Models and custom fixtures
  • Experience with AI tools and/or AI-integrated IDEs
  • Strong understanding of QA automation and testing best practices
  • Ability to build, articulate and peer-review automation tests
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • ISTQB certification would be desirable
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps and Selenium would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, Jira and X-Ray is desirable
