AV Engineer Residential AV / SmartHome Automation

Location: London (On-Site & Client-Facing)
Salary: Up to 45,000 per annum

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AV Engineer to join our growing Residential AV team. This is a client-facing position responsible for the installation, configuration, commissioning, and support of high-end residential audio-visual and smart home systems across London and the surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will be professional, well-presented, and confident working directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. Experience within the residential AV sector is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure residential AV and home automation systems.
• Work with industry-leading brands including Crestron, Control4, Lutron, KNX, and Savant .
• Test, troubleshoot, and commission systems to ensure reliable performance.
• Provide on-site technical support and resolve installation issues efficiently.
• Work closely with project managers, electricians, and other trades on-site.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Build positive client relationships through clear communication and professional service.
• Complete installation and service documentation where required.
• Follow all health and safety procedures on-site.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an AV Installer or AV Engineer within the Residential AV sector.
• Proven experience or strong working knowledge of installing and configuring systems from leading manufacturers such as Crestron, Control4, Lutron, KNX, and Savant .
• Experience installing and configuring displays, sound systems, lighting control, automation, and networking equipment.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals and connected home technologies.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Professional and confident in client-facing environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
• Willingness to travel to client sites across London and surrounding areas.
• Flexibility to work outside standard hours when projects require.

Desirable Skills

• ECS Card or relevant industry certification.
• Experience working in high-end residential properties.
• Knowledge of rack building, cable management, and system documentation.
• Experience commissioning smart home and integrated control systems.
