Overview

As an AV Project Engineer, you own the technical delivery of AV projects and lead the engineering team to successful installation and completion. You work closely with project managers to align engineering with project goals, and you develop and refine drawings and specifications. You’ll perform on-site surveys, manage materials, and coordinate with networks and construction teams to avoid delays. This role combines technical ownership with cross-functional collaboration in a large IT-focused organization.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical oversight from conception to completion with the project manager
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to align engineering components with goals
  • Review and refine Bills of Materials
  • Develop engineering and architectural drawings (RCP/Floor plans, elevations, AV schematics)
  • Attend client sites for technical surveys
  • Create cable and consumables lists per project
  • Assist PM to complete scope of works
  • Communicate AV pre-requirements to Client’s Network teams
  • Identify special requirements (personnel, equipment, tools, lifting)
  • Communicate implementation plans to project managers and installation teams
  • Attend site meetings and liaise with building contractors
  • First point of escalation for on-site engineering
  • Ensure allocated technical staff have necessary skills
  • Meet with vendors to evaluate products
  • Plan and manage tasks in a time-constrained environment
  • Operate in compliance with company rules and policies
Key requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development
  • Knowledge of risk management, quality control, and safety regulations
  • Ability to diagnose complex system problems and work independently
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio
