Aveva Senior Engineer (Digital Transformation)

As a Senior/Lead Engineer in the UK Process Automation Delivery Engineering Team, you will lead technical delivery of AVEVA-based digital and automation solutions across the full project lifecycle. You’ll mentor engineers, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive modernization efforts for customers’ operations. Your work spans design to commissioning, with a focus on UX/UI-led digitisation and cross-functional collaboration to deliver measurable outcomes. • Lead technical delivery of digital projects, including design, configuration, testing, installation, and commissioning
• Ensure compliance with QA, HSE, cybersecurity, and project delivery processes
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Schneider Electric/AVEVA and third-party solutions and support modernization best practices
• Review engineering outputs; manage testing with internal/external parties; prepare system documentation and test scripts
• Ensure on-time, on-budget, and quality delivery; identify risks/opportunities with commercial implications; communicate with Project and Customer Delivery Managers
• Mentor junior engineers; support service teams to resolve customer issues promptly
• Support bid teams with technical input, delivery estimates, and planning; represent engineering in customer sales meetings when needed

• Strong hands-on experience with AVEVA technologies (PI System, System Platform, OMI) and understanding of digitisation packages
• Proven experience in SCADA, telemetry, computer networking, software engineering; experience with Geo SCADA and/or EcoStruxure Automation Expert is desirable
• Experience in project environments (lead or supporting role) across full lifecycle; customer sites UK and overseas
• Familiarity with cloud/hybrid deployments and understanding of control-system cybersecurity is desirable
• Experience in sectors such as Water/Wastewater, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Cyber Security, Food & Beverage, CNI, or Renewable Energy
• Ability to explain best practices and system capabilities to customers; lead UX/UI and digitisation knowledge-capture sessions
• Experience with digital communications, industrial networks, and modern integration protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, REST APIs)
• Competent user of common operating systems and standard office tools
