Overview

As an AWS / Python Cloud Engineer, you will shape scalable, real-time cloud-native applications on AWS to handle large data waves. You’ll partner with software, data and DevOps teams to deliver resilient cloud solutions that support the company’s mission. You’ll work across EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, SQS and Aurora, deploying containers and serverless architectures where suitable. This role offers autonomy to make a tangible environmental impact while working in an agile, cross-functional setting.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain scalable, real-time Python applications
  • Build cloud-native solutions using AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, SQS, Aurora)
  • Deploy containerised apps with Docker and Kubernetes; implement serverless architectures
  • Monitor health and performance with CloudWatch and X-Ray; proactively resolve issues
  • Collaborate with data engineers, DevOps and product teams; participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies
Key requirements
  • Strong commercial experience building cloud-native applications in AWS (S3, Lambda, EC2, ECS, SQS, Aurora)
  • Expert-level Python development skills
  • Proven ability to design highly available, scalable and resilient software
  • Solid experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Helm, Git; Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD
  • Desirable: exposure to Java or C++, or Microsoft Azure data services
