AWS Cloud Technical Architect

In this role you will lead and implement robust AWS-based cloud solutions for diverse clients, guiding delivery from discovery to deployment. You’ll act as the technical authority, shaping engineering standards and mentoring engineers within cross‑functional teams. You’ll partner with customers to translate business needs into scalable, secure architectures, while staying ahead of cloud innovations. This is a hands‑on, impact‑driven position at a consultancy focused on transformation and excellence in cloud platforms.

• Serve as the technical point of contact for customer projects and drive delivery across engagements
• Define implementation approaches, prioritise technical work, manage risks and mentor junior engineers
• Conduct technical discovery, translating requirements into detailed designs and implementation plans
• Design, build and implement cloud solutions with hands‑on collaboration with engineering teams
• Act as technical authority to set engineering standards and guide delivery decisions
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and third parties to resolve challenges and enable successful delivery
• Stay current with emerging technologies, cloud services and best practices
• Drive continuous improvement through better engineering practices, automation and standards

• Eligibility for Security Clearance
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts and produce documentation
• Strong technical problem‑solving abilities across large-scale cloud environments
• DevOps expertise with platform engineering and modern delivery practices
• Proven technical leadership in guiding design reviews, delivery, risk management, and mentoring engineers
• Extensive AWS design, build and operation experience with focus on security, scalability, resilience, performance and cost optimization
• Ability to translate architectural designs into practical implementations across cloud platforms, microservices and containerised environments
• CI/CD and deployment automation experience using GitHub, GitLab or AWS tooling
• Strong networking knowledge including VPCs, routing, DNS, load balancers and hybrid connectivity
• Security and compliance experience with IAM, WAF, KMS and ISO 27001/PCI DSS controls
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK or equivalents
• Scripting and automation skills (Python, Ansible, Bash, Groovy, PowerShell, etc.)
