AWS Solutions Architect

As an AWS Solutions Architect at Presidio, you design secure, scalable cloud environments for UKI clients and guide engagements from pre-sales to delivery. You’ll balance deep technical work with client collaboration, shaping migration, modernisation, and security architectures. You’ll partner with sales to craft proposals and lead or contribute to migrations, while mentoring junior engineers and sharing reusable assets. This role offers impact across regulated industries and high-visibility projects, leveraging AWS to drive transformation.

• Partner with sales on pre-sales engagements, running discovery, shaping solutions, and creating architecture proposals and SOWs
• Design and deliver AWS cloud solutions across migration, modernisation, networking, and security streams
• Lead or contribute to migration projects including workload assessment, planning, tooling (MGN, DMS), and cutover
• Architect secure, governable environments with landing zones, IAM, network topology, and compliance controls
• Advise on container and modern app architectures (EKS, ECS, serverless) as appropriate
• Produce clear technical docs: diagrams, decisions, runbooks, and handover materials
• Act as trusted technical advisor through engagement lifecycle, manage expectations and flag risks
• Support junior engineers and architects to grow team capability
• Stay current with AWS platform and contribute reusable assets and internal practice improvements

• 3 to 5 years in solutions architecture, cloud engineering, or technical consulting with a strong AWS focus
• Experience designing and delivering cloud migration projects (lift-and-shift, re-platforming, hybrid connectivity)
• Solid grounding in AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, route tables, security groups)
• Working knowledge of AWS security services (IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail) and compliance in regulated environments
• Hands-on experience with containerised workloads on AWS (EKS or ECS) and modern deployment patterns
• Experience contributing to pre-sales activities (scoping, estimating, technical proposals or SOWs)
• Strong written and verbal communication for diverse audiences
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate minimum; professional level preferred
• Willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland; right to work in UK or Ireland
