In this role you will drive the design and governance of accredited software solutions within the UK Digital Competency Centre, aligning cloud, infrastructure and security across TrustNest. You’ll lead architecture across multi-domain tech, influence cross-functional teams, and embed secure-by-design practices to enable agile delivery. • Act as an industry expert in cloud, infrastructure, and network technologies
• Guide the platform team as a leader and subject matter expert
• Design and architect next-generation architectures across storage, compute, network, containerisation, and cloud-native apps
• Build solution architectures aligned to requirements, reference designs and standards
• Lead collaboration with project teams and enterprise architects to deploy architectures
• Develop extensible architectures enabling future technology agility
• Provide strategic support to staffing and stakeholders with design principles
• Research and recommend approaches for complex architectural problems
• Provide governance to internal and external implementation teams
• Participate in vendor RFPs, tool selections and negotiations
• Analyse business processes and data flows to inform solutions
• Weigh risk, ROI, schedule and budget to inform recommendations
• Ensure projects follow Information Reference Architecture and defined standards
• Define and maintain reference architectures and roadmaps in the cloud domain
• Communicate and influence towards future-state solutions
• Maintain technology strategy, roadmaps, and engineering implementations
• Establish and follow enterprise standards while advising on multi-project initiatives
• Explore new technologies and drive innovation in collaboration with the business
• Create training materials and position papers for delivery teams
• Support business case development
• Lead vulnerability management with Secure by Design principles
• Develop security requirements, epics and stories to ensure data protection in products
• Ensure security assurance aligns with data processing requirements and risk appetites
• Embed security accountability across development teams
• Support delivery of security measures for accreditations and re-accreditations
• Be the central point for UK Digital Competency Centre technical security matters
• Conduct formal technical risk assessments of Thales’ DCC environment and remedial actions
• Assist with security-related initiatives deployment

• In-depth experience in technical security support across systems and applications
• Subject matter expert in evaluating and implementing security products for IaC and Azure cloud environments
• Ability to assess security implications of systems/applications and changes
• Ability to interpret detailed design docs and identify security risks and mitigations
• Security architecture and services focus to maximize business value while managing risk
• Strong verbal and written communication of technical concepts to managers, clients and staff
