Overview
You will plan, implement and optimize databases to meet customers’ needs, focusing on reliability, performance, and security. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to design policies and tools, support migration and DR setups, and automate DBA tasks. The role combines hands-on administration with customer advisory work, in a hybrid-cloud context. You’ll engage with senior teammates and on-call rotations to ensure maximum uptime and value for clients.

- Tune databases by interpreting monitoring stats for optimal performance
- Perform DBA activities: configuration, space management, backups and recovery
- Help establish database management policies, security, maintenance and utilization; set and monitor standards
- Develop customer/internal tools to automate DBA tasks via scripts or software
- Advise customers on SQL Server best practices and disaster recovery setups
- Participate in sales calls to provide DB expertise for hardware/software/services improvements
- Collaborate with product teams to support roll-out of new products
- Provide 24x7 production support for SQL Server infrastructure with senior DB team
- Join the on-call rotation for database issues
- Contribute to security assessments, capacity planning, restores and uptime efforts
- Advanced knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks and statistics
- Advanced knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery solutions and database architecture design
- Experience in SQL Server administration and related environments
- Ability to build tools and scripts to automate DBA tasks
- Experience in production support and on-call rotations
- Familiarity with monitoring, performance tuning and capacity planning
