Azure Data Engineering Lead

Azure data engineering leadership at CIBC centers on Synapse, Databricks, and scalable platform delivery. The Toronto role includes design, development, and technical guidance. As a Technical Lead for Application Development within Global Asset Management Technology, you will lead cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. You will design, develop, test, implement, and support solutions while serving as a subject matter expert. The work includes Azure data warehouse integrity, business-aligned architecture, and collaboration with technology and business partners. Key Responsibilities:

Design and maintain the GAM data warehouse on Azure Review developer code and contribute hands-on development Coordinate complex solution design and technical documentation Lead application integration across cross-functional platforms Coach teams and advise application owners on technology Requirements:

Eight or more years in enterprise data engineering Expertise with Synapse, Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Medallion architecture Hands-on Databricks, Delta Lake, PySpark, and Spark SQL Experience with Azure Data Factory and Python development Knowledge of Azure SQL, APIs, CI/CD, observability, and security Bring Azure delivery, data architecture, and technical leadership to CIBC’s Global Asset Management Technology team in Toronto.
