Back End Developer

Insight Global are seeking a Backend Developer for a leading global investment banking and financial services client.

This position requires 5 days onsite in Birmingham, UK for a contract through end of year and is Inside IR35 .

The successful candidate will join a Corporate Treasury Engineering team responsible for building and supporting platforms used for Liquidity Monitoring and Reporting. The team is currently undertaking a strategic cloud-native transformation, providing an opportunity to work on high-impact data and application platforms that support regulatory compliance and business-critical reporting.

You will work closely with engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to develop scalable data-driven solutions, improve reporting capabilities, and support application migration into a modern cloud-native environment. The role offers a blend of software engineering, data engineering, and platform modernization responsibilities within a highly visible area of the business.

Qualifications

• Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java and/or Python.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets in reporting, analytics, or financial systems environments.
• Strong understanding of data processing, data transformation, and data integration concepts.
• Experience writing and optimising SQL queries.
• Knowledge of relational databases and data modelling principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
