Back End Developer

We are looking for a Backend Engineer on 1 yr contract for one of our healthcare clients in Toronto.

This is a hands on role ideal for an engineer who enjoys learning modern backend patterns and growing their technical depth in a regulated, mission driven environment.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience designing, building, and operating backend services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot
• Hands‑on experience with relational databases, data modeling, schema evolution, and performance‑aware query design
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests and contributing to CI/CD pipelines
• Working knowledge of cloud‑native concepts, including containers, service configuration, observability, and multi‑environment deployments
• Exposure to microservices or modular service architectures with an emphasis on maintainability and operational readiness

Nice to Have:

• Experience working in regulated, compliance‑driven, or healthcare environments
