Backend Developer

In this role you own the backend platform domain within a cloud-native environment. You shape technical direction, design scalable services, and drive reliability across the team. You will mentor engineers, enforce engineering standards, and influence architecture for long-term platform health. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines coding, design, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver impact at scale.

• Lead the technical direction and architecture of backend platform services
• Design, build, and maintain scalable services using Go and TypeScript
• Work with AWS infrastructure (Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS/Aurora)
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions balancing scalability, delivery speed, and maintainability
• Drive engineering quality through code reviews, testing standards, and best practices
• Mentor backend engineers and raise the team's technical capability
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering Managers, and other technical leads
• Identify and manage technical debt while improving platform performance and reliability
• Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement

• Strong commercial experience building backend systems with Go
• Experience using TypeScript within backend environments (Node.js, tooling, shared services)
• Solid experience working within AWS cloud infrastructure
• Strong understanding of scalable system design and backend architecture
• Previous experience in technical leadership or senior engineering capacity
• Passion for mentoring developers and driving engineering standards
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
