As a Backend Developer, you will design, build and maintain secure, scalable backend services and APIs. You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team to deliver cloud-native, serverless solutions used by millions, primarily for public-sector clients. You’ll translate user needs into robust technical solutions and contribute to modern software engineering practices. - Design, develop and maintain backend services using TypeScript
- Implement serverless and cloud-native solutions
- Develop applications on AWS including AWS Lambda
- Build secure, scalable APIs and backend services
- Translate requirements into reliable, maintainable technical solutions
- Write clean, well-tested code following modern practices
- Collaborate with frontend/mobile teams, designers, product managers, QA and other engineers
- Participate in code reviews and architectural decisions
- Develop automated tests and contribute to CI/CD
- Investigate and resolve defects, performance issues and incidents
- Consider security, accessibility, privacy, resilience, scalability and performance throughout delivery
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing
- Help establish development standards and best practices
- Mentor colleagues and support knowledge sharing
- Strong experience building backend services and APIs
- Proficiency in TypeScript
- Experience with serverless architecture
- Experience with AWS and AWS Lambda
- Understanding of event-driven and cloud-native architectures
- Experience designing secure, scalable backend services
- Experience with RESTful APIs and integrations
- Experience with automated testing (unit/integration)
- Experience with Git and modern workflows
- Understanding of clean code, modularity, maintainability, design patterns
- Experience diagnosing production issues
