Backend Engineer

You will join a highly collaborative engineering team to build scalable backend services and cloud-native applications. In this role you will contribute to architecture decisions and best practices while turning complex business requirements into robust solutions. You’ll work across the full SDLC and partner with Product, Design and wider business teams to deliver impact. • Design and build scalable backend services using Python
• Develop cloud-native applications within AWS environments
• Contribute to system design, architecture and engineering standards
• Collaborate with Product, Design and wider business teams
• Support code reviews, technical discussions and continuous improvement
• Build solutions within a modern microservices architecture
• Mentor engineers and share technical knowledge across the team

• Strong Python development experience
• Experience building scalable backend systems and APIs
• Exposure to Django, FastAPI or similar
• AWS cloud experience
• Understanding of distributed systems, OO design and software engineering best practices
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of Kafka, Kubernetes or containerised environments would be advantageous
