Backend Engineer Node.js + AWS

In this backend-focused role, you will help build and scale Deel’s APIs and services used by global customers. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to design robust features, optimize performance, and ensure a customer-centric engineering approach. • Collaborate in a cross-functional team (Frontend, Product, Designers, QA) to deliver seamless experiences
• Participate in product planning from discovery to deployment throughout the SDLC
• Develop and enhance features, APIs, and continually improve products
• Identify and fix bugs rapidly to maintain Deel speed
• Deliver quality engineering with a customer-centric focus

• Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript proficiency
• Experience with at least one other server-side language
• SQL expertise with PostgreSQL, query optimization, migrations, data modeling
• Strong understanding of OOP and design patterns
• Designing scalable systems to handle high growth and load
• API development with input validation, JWT, and secure, scalable queue-based architectures
• At least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer
