Backend Software Engineer

Salary: £43,000 - 83,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven working experience in software engineering
• At least a BSc degree in Computer Science or Engineering; MSc preferred
• Experience with test-driven development and behavioral-driven development
• Ability to develop in Java
• Experience with functional programming languages
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate); prior experience with NoSQL solutions
• Mastery in software engineering tools
• Ability to document requirements and designs
• Familiarity with agile software development methodology and release process
• Experience working in international environments
• Ability to adapt communication for technical and non-technical people

Responsibilities:

• Write well designed, testable, efficient code
• Produce designs and determine operational feasibility
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
• Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
• Document and maintain software functionality
• Tailor and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics
• Update our job knowledge by studying state of the art development tools and programming techniques, participating in networks, and reading professional publications
