Overview
As a Backend Software Engineer, you will build and evolve a cloud-native platform for a global reinsurance group. You’ll influence architecture and engineering practices, focusing on AI-enabled software delivery and productivity. You work on greenfield initiatives, collaborating with a small, agile team to connect frontend and backend systems and embed AI in the development lifecycle. This role offers hands-on impact, modern tooling, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic environment.

- Develop and maintain backend and cloud-native services using C# with a focus on scalable design
- Explore and implement AI-driven improvements to processes and product features (e.g., Claude) within solid design patterns
- Design and implement distributed, event-driven microservices with CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with frontend teams to ensure robust connectivity between client and server systems
- Contribute to architecture decisions and best practices in a small, agile team
- Strong backend skills in C#; Python experience advantageous
- Solid CS fundamentals: OOP, multithreading, design patterns; comfortable with system design
- Understanding of cloud-native architectures (Azure/AWS), microservices, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker
- Knowledge of event-driven systems and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Awareness of frontend considerations (React or Angular) and backend/frontend integration
- Interest in applying AI to software development and products; experience with Claude or similar tools is a plus
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication and problem-solving abilities
