Backend Software Engineer - Infrastructure

As a Backend Software Engineer at Palantir, you build scalable data infrastructure and APIs that power Foundry and Gotham. You work across product lifecycles with cross-functional teams to turn complex data problems into reliable platform capabilities. • Build a performant search and indexing system for permissioned data
• Contribute to open-source data processing libraries and apply innovations for performance gains
• Develop distributed systems to power large-scale compute workloads and manage container orchestration
• Design architecture and APIs to guide developers along a simple, effective path
• Implement tracing and performance observability in high-scale microservices
• Create reliable storage, authentication, and asset-serving systems to support product teams
• Automate deployment, management, and operations of distributed systems (e.g., Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka) across environments

• Engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics or similar field
• Strong coding skills in Java, C++, Python, Rust, or similar languages
• Familiarity with storage and data processing systems and cloud infrastructure
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to iterate with teammates and uphold quality
