Backend Software Engineer - Product Eligibility

In this role you join Wise’s Product Eligibility team to shape the technical direction for the core domain that determines product availability for customers. You will contribute to the platform, back-office tooling, and occasionally customer-facing flows, helping scale a world-class transfer product. You’ll work in a cross-functional, agile setup across London and Cherkasy, tackling data-driven eligibility and upcoming platform enhancements. • Starting salary: 68,000 - 87,500

• Define and drive the technical vision for the owned domain
• Contribute to platform, back-office tooling, and episodic customer-facing flows
• Help scale the transfer product and support platform capabilities for new products and markets
• Collaborate with product managers and analysts in an agile environment
• Oversee and participate in robust API design and deployment
• Help overhaul residence/location/address validation processes

• Experience with large-scale distributed systems
• Java 8+ knowledge
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation and schema design
• Experience designing, deploying and maintaining clean RESTful APIs
• Strong practices in coding, code reviews, and open feedback
• Enjoy writing testable code and practicing Test Driven Development
