Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Check Processing Associate for a temporary opportunity in St. Petersburg, FL. This role supports check processing operations by handling incoming mail, organizing financial documents, scanning and indexing records, and ensuring accurate and timely document routing.

The ideal candidate has experience in banking operations, administrative support, transaction processing, mailroom operations, or document management and can work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Open, sort, organize, and prepare incoming mail and check-related documents for processing.
• Scan, index, and electronically route documents to the appropriate departments.
• Enter transactions and maintain accurate records in processing systems and databases.
• Research basic transaction discrepancies, identify exceptions, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Follow established procedures, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to phone calls and inquiries from internal and external clients.
• Maintain accuracy, productivity, and quality standards while meeting daily deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and data entry accuracy.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and handle confidential financial information.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Two or more years of experience in administrative support, banking, financial operations, accounting support, mailroom, or document processing preferred.
