BI and Performance Manager

Overview
In this role you will lead the Performance & Informatics team to drive data-driven decision making across Elective, Cancer and Urgent Care services. You will line-manage analysts, develop BI solutions, and ensure timely NHS returns while shaping information strategy for Trust-wide service planning and transformation. You will work on-site as needed, collaborating with clinical and operational colleagues to deliver high-quality insights that support patient care and organisational goals. This is a senior, impact-focused position within a respected NHS Trust.
Responsibilities- Line-manage and develop staff to build a strong BI team
- Lead complex analysis to support operational decision-making and transformation
- Define information requirements and establish reporting mechanisms at Trust and external levels
- Develop and improve information reporting systems (SQL Server, Power BI, Excel) for monitoring patient information
- Oversee data quality, timely reporting, and compliance with national data requirements
- Provide guidance to stakeholders and train users of BI tools
- Promote collaborative culture to maintain high-quality BI services
- Ensure Health, Safety and Welfare responsibilities are met and Health & Safety compliance upheld
- Deputise for Head of BI when required and support Trust programmes
- Contribute to department evolution and adoption of new technologies
- Maintain knowledge of NHS information standards and definitions
- Degree or equivalent in a statistical or information-related subject
- Masters level education or equivalent experience
- IMT Qualification
- Senior-level health service informatics experience
- Experience with large, complex organisations
- Expertise in SQL or relational databases and BI tools
- Experience leading staff and engaging with clinicians and managers
- Experience delivering information services and internal processes
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Self-starter with initiative
