Bilingual Collection Officer

Manulife Bank is hiring a bilingual Collections Officer for a full-time remote role in Ontario. The role handles delinquent consumer accounts and supports clients in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Manage delinquent and past-due accounts through repayment or write-off for loans, lines of credit, bank accounts and mortgages.
• Review and investigate accounts to assess clients’ ability to repay, and negotiate payment arrangements within credit policies.
• Process payments and adjustments accurately, maintain collection records, and manage client correspondence.
• Escalate legal or third-party notices that may put the Bank’s security at risk, and recommend solutions for escalated complaints.
• Protect client privacy and follow Bank and compliance policies.

Qualifications

• One to three years of collections or recoveries experience; mortgage collections experience is preferred.
• Fluent in written and spoken French and English.
• Ability to interpret loan and mortgage agreements and legal documents, including bankruptcy notices.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Compensation

Expected salary range: $48,450–$80,750 CAD per year. Incentive compensation may also be available.
