Blast Technical Lead

As a Blast Associate Technical Lead, you will drive protective design for infrastructure against blast and impact events. You’ll work within the Building Engineering Division, collaborating with Security and Structural teams to deliver cutting-edge blast protection across diverse markets. You shape design through CFD modelling and advanced structural analysis, guiding projects from concept to delivery. This role offers technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the chance to contribute to safer, more resilient built environments.

- Provide expert input on blast and protection engineering
- Lead blast protection design and CFD modelling
- Oversee project delivery, tasks, and quality assurance
- Engage with clients and sector leads to align objectives
- Support business development and sales activities
- Conduct risk assessments and determine appropriate treatments
- Produce employer’s requirements, specifications, and design documentation
- Manage projects including progress reporting and contract administration
- Mentor team members and promote SH&E best practices
- Broad security knowledge with deep blast analysis and design expertise
- Ability to derive design basis from operational/strategic requirements
- Experience with blast modelling and CFD for blast-wave interactions
- Proficiency in ANSYS, AutoDyn or similar 3D FEA/FSI software
- Understanding of physical security solutions and performance standards
- Experience in threat reduction, vulnerability analyses, facade evaluation, high-speed impact analysis, and fire effects on structures
- Excellent documentation, writing, and technical reporting skills
- Solid project management capabilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholders
- Eligible for or able to obtain Security Clearance
