In this role you will lead the design and delivery of building management systems across diverse sectors, shaping smart building solutions. You work within the Building Engineering Division to align client needs with regulatory and sustainability goals. You will tackle complex projects, from feasibility to commissioning, while driving innovation and knowledge sharing. You’ll engage stakeholders, mentor the BMS team, and promote a culture of safety and cross-disciplinary collaboration. - Lead design and oversee contractor implementation of BMS systems to meet client needs, regulatory requirements, and sustainability goals
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels and provide expert advice while building strong relationships
- Manage complex projects end-to-end: feasibility studies, specifications and point schedules, tender management, cost and bid analysis, progress reporting
- Conduct system surveys, assessments, FAT/SAT testing; provide reports, recommendations, and client training
- Drive business development, mentor and grow the BMS team, promote knowledge sharing and innovation in smart building technologies
- Promote SH&E best practices, ensuring compliance and fostering a safety-focused culture
- Support integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems using open communication standards and BMS technologies (Trend, Tridium, Niagara)
- Occasionally travel nationally to project sites and AECOM offices
- Strong technical expertise in BMS, mechanical & electrical systems, with experience in control systems, commissioning, and smart building technology
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects nationally, handle workload, finances, and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, able to work with clients, architects, M&E contractors, and senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of open communication standards, BMS trends, and innovative smart building solutions
- HNC or degree in building services, electrical engineering, or computer science; BMS experience with Trend, Tridium, or Niagara; competent in cause & effect matrices, specifications, and commissioning
- Chartered status or working toward it, with security clearance (or willing to obtain)
