Overview
In this role you drive the design, implementation and optimization of building management systems across diverse sectors. You work with clients, architects and engineers to deliver smart building solutions that meet regulatory and sustainability goals. You lead complex projects from feasibility to completion, ensuring smooth contractor delivery and knowledge transfer. You will mentor the BMS team, foster cross-functional collaboration and champion safety and innovation in building technology.

- Lead design and oversee contractor implementation of BMS systems to meet client needs and sustainability targets
- Engage with clients, architects, M&E teams, contractors and senior management to build strong relationships and provide expert advice
- Manage complex projects from start to finish including feasibility studies, specifications, tender management, cost/bid analysis and progress reporting
- Conduct system surveys, assessments, FAT/SAT testing, and provide reports, recommendations, and client training to optimize performance
- Drive business development, mentor the BMS team, promote knowledge sharing and contribute to smart building technology innovation
- Promote SH&E best practices and ensure compliance while maintaining a culture of safety
- Support integration of mechanical, electrical and control systems; apply expertise in open communication standards and BMS technologies (Trend, Tridium, Niagara)
- Occasionally travel nationally to project sites and offices, balancing site work with hybrid/remote arrangements
- Strong technical expertise in BMS, mechanical & electrical systems with experience in control systems, commissioning, and smart building tech
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects nationally, handle workloads, finances and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, able to work with clients, architects, M&E contractors, and senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of open communication standards, BMS trends, and innovative smart building solutions
- HNC or degree in building services, electrical engineering, or computer science; BMS experience with Trend, Tridium or Niagara; competent in cause & effect matrices, specifications and commissioning
- Chartered status or working toward it, with security clearance (or willingness to obtain)
