As a BMS Consultant at AECOM, you drive design, implementation, and optimization of building management systems across diverse sectors. You’ll lead design and contractor delivery, engage stakeholders, and steer projects from feasibility to handover. Your work strengthens client outcomes, sustainability, and smart building performance. You’ll mentor the BMS team, foster innovation, and collaborate across disciplines to shape safer, more efficient built environments.

- Lead design and oversee contractor implementation of BMS systems to meet client needs, regulatory requirements, and sustainability goals
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels (clients, architects, M&E teams, contractors, senior management)
- Manage complex projects from start to finish (feasibility, specifications, tender management, cost and bid analysis, progress reporting)
- Conduct system surveys, assessments, FAT/SAT testing; provide reports, recommendations, and client training
- Drive business development, mentor the BMS team, promote knowledge sharing and innovation in smart building tech
- Promote SH&E best practices, ensure compliance and foster a safety-focused culture
- Support integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems; apply open communication standards and BMS tech
- Occasional national travel to project sites and offices; balance with hybrid/remote work
- Strong technical expertise in BMS, mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in control systems, commissioning, and smart building technology
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects nationally; capable of workload, finance, and stakeholder management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to work with clients, architects, M&E contractors, and senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of open communication standards, BMS trends, and innovative smart building solutions
- Qualifications: HNC or degree in building services, electrical engineering, or computer science; BMS experience with Trend, Tridium, or Niagara; competent in cause & effect matrices, specifications, and commissioning
- Chartered status or working toward it; security clearance (or willingness to obtain)
