Overview
In this role you will serve as the national lead for Biodiversity Net Gain, shaping strategy, standards and technical delivery across projects. You will grow the UK BNG capability, mentor specialists and drive commercial growth through bids and client engagement. You will collaborate across planning, engineering, transport and environmental teams to deliver high-quality BNG solutions for clients in residential, energy, defence, transport and government. This is a hands-on leadership position focused on impact, innovation and cross-functional influence within a leading multidisciplinary consultancy.

- Lead the delivery and QA of BNG assessments, strategies and management plans
- Apply deep BNG knowledge including metrics, offsetting and trading rules
- Identify growth opportunities and contribute to business strategy
- Lead tenders and support commercial decision-making
- Mentor and develop technical specialists in the team
- Foster collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Engage with local authorities, clients, and partners
- Ensure high-quality, client-focused delivery across a diverse project portfolio
- Adapt technical solutions to meet project and client needs
- Strong experience in Biodiversity Net Gain within a consultancy environment
- Proven leadership and team development capability
- Excellent understanding of BNG policy, guidance and best practice
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and multidisciplinary working
- Relevant degree and professional membership (e.g. CIEEM), with Chartered status desirable
