Broadband Network Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Broadband Network Administrator to manage and maintain their expanding broadband infrastructure in Kimberley . This role is vital for ensuring the delivery of high-speed internet services to residential and business customers across the Northern Cape. You will be responsible for the smooth operation of the network, focusing on performance, reliability, and user satisfaction. The ideal candidate is proactive, technically adept, and dedicated to supporting the growth of digital connectivity in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain broadband network equipment, including routers, switches, and access points.
• Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Manage IP addressing, routing, and network configurations.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams regarding network connectivity.
• Implement network upgrades and expansions in coordination with project plans.
• Ensure network security protocols are in place and functioning effectively.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in network administration, with a focus on broadband or ISP environments.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF), DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Knowledge of fiber optic and DSL technologies is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in Kimberley .
