Overview

In this role, you will own and run Hastings Direct’s building repair network for Home Claims, ensuring quality repairs, safety, and fair costs while delivering outstanding customer support. You’ll lead the network and internal teams to improve performance, using data to drive outcomes that balance customer experience with cost efficiency. The position sits at the core of our claims operations, partnering with procurement, MI, and cross-functional teams to scale a robust contractor network. Responsibilities
  • Own strategy, setup and ongoing management of the building repair network to support customer outcomes, quality, resilience and commercial performance
  • Find, onboard and develop contractors with appropriate coverage, capacity, capability and standards to meet demand; support procurement and commercial activity
  • Lead contractor performance across quality, timeliness, communication, complaints, cost and customer experience; use MI to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Manage budgets, forecasts and supplier performance; identify cost-control opportunities without harming outcomes
  • Coach and develop colleagues supporting the repair network, fostering accountability, collaboration and customer focus
  • Maintain quality assurance through scope checks, technical reviews, audits, field inspections and compliance with regulatory and safety standards
Key requirements
  • Strong experience in home/property claims, building repairs, restoration or construction management with clear repair journey understanding and customer outcomes
  • Proven track record of managing contractor networks or supply chain partners including onboarding, governance, performance and continuous improvement
  • Excellent commercial awareness with budget, repair cost and supplier performance management
  • Solid understanding of contractor governance, quality assurance, risks and controls, and service standards
  • Proficient in using MI and insights to assess performance, identify trends and drive improvements in cost, quality, cycle time and customer experience
