About the Opportunity

Aeolus Staffing Solutions is hiring a Business Analyst to support IT infrastructure projects for a public-sector client.

You will help business users and technical teams understand requirements, document processes, and prepare for technology changes. Projects include Windows 11 migrations, server upgrades, and improvements to secure remote access.

We are looking for someone practical, organized, and comfortable asking questions, running stakeholder discussions, and turning information into clear documentation. You do not need to be an infrastructure engineer or have experience with every technology listed. Your strength should be business analysis within IT project environments.

What You Will Do

  • Meet with business users and technical teams to understand their needs and document requirements.
  • Organize requirements discussions, clarify priorities, and help resolve conflicting needs.
  • Map existing processes and document how they will change following implementation.
  • Compare requirements with proposed solutions and identify gaps, dependencies, or process changes.
  • Work with technical specialists to understand application, data, and security impacts.
  • Prepare business requirements documents, user stories, process maps, and other project documentation.
  • Help develop test scenarios, test scripts, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support business users during testing and track requirements through implementation.
  • Follow established project templates, security practices, and documentation standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • At least 7 years of professional experience working on IT projects , including hands-on business analysis responsibilities. This experience may span business analyst, systems analyst, or related IT project roles.
  • Experience supporting an infrastructure or technology upgrade project—for example, a desktop migration, server upgrade, remote access rollout, or similar initiative.
  • Ability to gather requirements and communicate effectively with both business users and technical teams.
  • Experience documenting business processes and preparing clear requirements.
  • Familiarity with process mapping tools such as Visio and BPMN notation.
  • Understanding of testing and user acceptance activities.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office and collaboration tools such as SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with Agile and/or Waterfall project environments.
  • Government of Canada Secret clearance.
  • Ability to attend meetings onsite in Ottawa as required.
  • Exposure to data migration, Dynamics AX/D365, or Product Lifecycle Management software.

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid contract based in Ottawa, with onsite attendance according to project needs. Occasional travel to Winnipeg may be required.
