Business Analytics Developer Power BI

Develop Microsoft Power BI analytics solutions in Halifax, Nova Scotia, using business analysis, reporting requirements, and dashboard development skills.

This entry-level Business Analytics Developer supports NSCC’s Business Analytics Team within the Office of Learning and Transformation. The continuing full-time position requires understanding IT system development methodologies, gathering business requirements, and creating reporting prototypes. You will work with Microsoft Power BI, Cognos BI, and Microsoft Fabric tools while supporting business intelligence needs across academic operations, institutional research, finance, and human resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze reporting and dashboard requirements with business stakeholders
• Develop prototypes using reporting and dashboard tools
• Design and develop reports, dashboards, and security solutions
• Support user acceptance testing and train users
• Maintain report availability, performance, delivery, and migration

Requirements:

• Relevant university degree or college diploma
• Experience developing analytics solutions with Microsoft Power BI
• Understanding of IT system development methodologies
• Business requirements gathering and documentation experience
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
