Business Intelligence Analyst

In this role you will be a trusted source of performance and management information for Directors and managers, supporting service improvement for residents. You will work with the Business Intelligence Team to collect, collate, analyse and interpret data, presenting insights in clear formats for diverse audiences. You will contribute to strategic planning, performance management and research projects, spotting trends and supporting data quality across the council. The role combines independent work with collaboration, enabling you to influence service design in a forward-thinking council. A strong focus on data, problem-solving and innovation offers meaningful career progression.

• Provide high-quality performance and management information to Directors and managers
• Collect, collate, analyse and interpret data to identify trends
• Present insights in clear formats for diverse audiences
• Support strategic planning, performance management and research projects
• Monitor data quality and support data governance across the organisation
• Contribute to service design and delivery improvements
• Spot emerging trends to inform decision-making

• Advanced ICT skills including Excel, Power BI, SQL, SPSS or similar
• Experience with large databases in data management roles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Degree level education or equivalent work experience
• Experience in research involving data handling, analysis and interpretation
• Understanding of diverse communities and implications for strategy and performance development
• Experience working with Local Authority data for evidence-based decision-making
• Knowledge of statistics
• Familiarity with reporting tools and data storage in large systems
• Awareness of local government services and organisational structures
