Business Intelligence Data Engineer

Build business intelligence solutions with complex SQL, automated data flows, and reporting as a Data Engineer in Mississauga, Canada. Work directly with stakeholders.

Reporting to the Manager, Data Systems, this Data Engineer develops and maintains business intelligence solutions. You will translate needs into technical specifications, model warehouse data, and create analytical structures for self-service. The work includes APIs, SaaS platforms, Postgres, Airflow, Spark, and SQL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate business needs into technical specifications with stakeholders
• Build automated data flows into Postgres from varied sources
• Model warehouse data and create analytical structures
• Maintain reporting and existing data workflows
• Optimize SQL and troubleshoot pipeline failures through logs

Requirements:

• Experience as a Data Developer, analyst, engineer, or Data Scientist
• Background in warehouse design and dimensional modeling
• Understanding of database management systems and ETL frameworks
• Experience with Apache Airflow, Spark, and complex SQL
• Knowledge of Python or R, REST APIs, and visualization tools
