DN Colleges is seeking a Business Systems Officer to join our Business Systems and Information team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced systems and data professional to support the development, maintenance and improvement of key business systems and information assets across the organisation.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure the reliability, security and performance of business systems, databases and enterprise applications. You will play an important role in supporting operational and strategic priorities by developing data and information solutions, providing technical expertise, improving business processes and helping colleagues make effective use of systems and data.

This role would suit a proactive and analytical individual with strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering high-quality service and continual improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and support data and information assets that meet organisational needs.
• Provide technical support for business systems and resolve system-related issues.
• Monitor system health, performance and availability to minimise disruption.
• Maintain the security, integrity and reliability of data and information assets.
• Support system upgrades, enhancements and new implementations.
• Collaborate with suppliers, stakeholders and colleagues to ensure successful system integration and delivery.
• Analyse business processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Produce and maintain reports, dashboards and management information.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning for systems and data.
• Provide guidance on data governance, GDPR compliance and data security.
• Create system documentation and support user training activities where required.
• Explore opportunities for innovation, cloud technologies and emerging solutions including AI, ML and RPA.

Essential Criteria

• Level 4/5 qualification in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Proven experience working within a technical systems, data or information management environment.
• Experience working as part of a technical team within a large-scale organisation.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database management systems (RDBMS).
• Excellent communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience of data governance and GDPR principles.

• In DN Colleges we call this role Business Systems Officer but you might know this as Systems Analyst, Business Systems Administrator, Data Systems Officer, Applications Support Officer or Information Systems Officer.
