C++ FPGA EDA Software Engineer

Build high-performance FPGA design software at Altera using C++ and algorithmic problem-solving across scalable EDA workflows. This role is based on software development for FPGA tools.

As an EDA Software Engineer, you will develop capabilities for synthesis, placement, routing, timing analysis, design rule checking, and compilation. You will collaborate with FPGA architects, hardware designers, verification teams, and product engineering. The work combines software engineering with semiconductor technology.

• Design software components for FPGA EDA tools
• Create algorithms improving runtime and resource utilization
• Optimize performance, memory usage, and compilation efficiency
• Debug customer-reported issues and develop sustainable solutions
• Contribute to architecture, testing, and CI/CD automation

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a technical field
• Three or more years of software development experience
• Strong C++ programming experience
• Algorithms, data structures, and software design knowledge
• Linux development and strong debugging skills
