C# .Net Senior Desktop Software Engineer

In this role you will design, develop, and modernize high-performance desktop and cloud applications for rock physics. You’ll steer technical direction alongside a Team Lead and Product Owner, writing code daily and guiding architectural decisions. You’ll modernize legacy codebases and adopt AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery. This is a hands-on position in a collaborative, engineering-driven environment focused on rigorous software quality and performance.

• Architect, implement, and maintain complex desktop and cloud applications using modern practices (design patterns, SOLID, automated testing, CI/CD)
• Lead migration of mature C/C++ codebases to modern languages and UI/UX frameworks while preserving scientific accuracy and performance
• Adopt AI-powered development tools (e.g., Copilot, automated testing assistants) to improve delivery and code quality
• Collaborate with Team Lead and Product Owner to translate requirements into maintainable technical solutions
• Mentor and lead junior/mid-level developers through code reviews and pair programming
• Communicate risks, trade-offs, and progress clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Stay current with emerging languages, frameworks, cloud services, and AI/ML tooling
• Self-motivated and collaborative, thriving in a team environment and taking initiative

• 5+ years in professional software engineering building production-grade applications
• Strong proficiency in C#/.NET across languages in a single product ecosystem
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Experience with cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Fundamentals of software engineering: OO and component-based design, design patterns, unit/integration testing, Git, code review workflows
• Hands-on CI/CD experience with automated build and deployment pipelines
• Experience modernizing legacy software and UI/UX modernization
• Nice to have: Eclipse RCP or IDE experience
• Comfort with AI-assisted development tools and keeping up with tech trends
