C++ Software Engineer - Data Platform

In this Technologist role, you design and maintain core components of WorldQuant’s distributed storage, compute, and service platforms to process massive time-series data. You collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate requirements into scalable designs and resolve production issues. You will contribute to system design, code reviews, and productionization, helping to advance a high-performance, global investment platform. • Design, develop, and maintain core components across distributed storage, compute, and service platforms (storage engines, query/compute execution, RPC layers, distributed coordination)
• Partner with research and engineering teams to translate data-access, compute, and performance requirements into concrete designs
• Investigate and resolve production issues (correctness bugs, performance regressions)
• Participate in code review, system design, feature development, and productionization

• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and systems-level thinking (memory management, concurrency, I/O)
• Proficiency in modern C++ (C++11 or higher); comfort with STL
• Solid working knowledge of UNIX/Linux development environments
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, OpenCode)
