Overview

In this role, you will lead a squad within the Corporate Payments division while staying hands-on in production code. You will own system architecture, API design, and technical decisions, shaping how the international payments platform scales and operates. You’ll mentor engineers, drive delivery quality, and foster continuous improvement across the team. A key focus is adopting AI-enabled tools to streamline development and release processes. This is an opportunity to influence a global payments platform and work closely with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the squad across architecture, development, delivery and production operations
  • Own system architecture and API design; drive technical decisions and design reviews
  • Ensure code quality and establish development standards
  • Partner with Product Managers on roadmaps, delivery plans and priorities
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and performance feedback
  • Champion AI and agentic coding tools across the SDLC and drive process improvements
  • Balance hands-on development with strategic ownership and team growth
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering and business domains
Key requirements
  • Strong leadership within a software engineering team
  • Backend development with C# .NET (other OO languages considered)
  • System design experience, especially distributed systems and microservices
  • Frontend experience (Vue.js, React or modern Angular)
  • Good SQL and relational database knowledge
  • Production AWS experience (SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS, Lambda)
  • Experience owning CI/CD and release processes (GitHub Actions)
  • Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar AI tools
  • Collaborative, pragmatic communication with both engineering and business stakeholders
  • Payments, FX or regulated industry background beneficial
