California Licensed Medical Coder

To support a growing healthcare facility, the full-time California Licensed Medical Coder will review clinical documentation, apply appropriate ICD-10 codes for inpatient surgeries, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines while working remotely. Key responsibilities Review clinical documentation and apply ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for diagnoses and procedures Resolve billing-related errors and participate in quality review meetings to maintain a productivity standard of 95% accuracy or better Abstract required information from medical records and query physicians for clarification when documentation is unclear Required qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of a certified coding program or CAHIM accredited HIT program Five years of progressive inpatient coding experience in an acute care facility Extensive outpatient coding experience in multiple areas of specialty Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required
