Cardiology - Interventional Physician

Med Ninjas is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist for ongoing locum tenens coverage in Cottonwood, Arizona . This opportunity offers weekday daytime coverage, no call, and a mix of hospital and clinic responsibilities.

Practice Details

Coverage will rotate between the hospital and clinic based on the assigned week. Responsibilities may include:

• Interventional Cardiology coverage
• STEMI and cardiology consultations
• Hospital-based cardiology consults
• Outpatient clinic visits
• Transesophageal echocardiograms
• Timely completion of Cerner documentation
• Coordination with physicians and clinical support staff

Estimated workload may include:

• Approximately 4 5 procedures per day
• Approximately 3 4 consults per day under the standard coverage description
• Up to 8 14 hospital consults, depending on assignment needs
• Approximately clinic patients per day
• Approximately 1 2 TEEs per day

Clinical Support

The physician will work with an established clinical team that may include:

• Physicians
• Physician assistant support
• Registered nurses
• Medical assistants
• Patient care technicians

Requirements

• Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
• Minimum of two years of experience
• Active Arizona medical license or eligibility through the IMLC
• Active ACLS
• Active BLS
• Recent and consistent Interventional Cardiology practice
• Current case logs
• Ability to complete facility credentialing
• Ability to complete required Cerner training before starting

Candidates requiring an Arizona license may be considered because sufficient licensing time is available.

Credentialing and Orientation

• Credentialing timeframe is approximately 30 days
• Cerner orientation is required before the first assignment
• Cerner training is approximately four hours and is generally completed remotely
• Additional onsite orientation may be arranged if required
• A virtual interview with the department is expected

Health Requirements

The facility requires current:

• COVID-19 vaccination documentation
• Influenza vaccination documentation

Medical or religious exemptions and declinations may be considered in accordance with facility guidelines.

Travel

Approved travel expenses may be reimbursed according to the assignment s travel policy. Eligible expenses may include economy airfare, lodging, economy rental transportation, mileage, standard baggage fees, and airport parking.
