Position Overview

An established hospital in Nebraska is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist for ongoing locum tenens coverage starting in January 2027. This opportunity includes inpatient rounding, interventional procedures, STEMI coverage, and night call responsibilities. Outpatient clinic coverage is also available for providers interested in incorporating clinic duties into their schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inpatient cardiology rounds Monday through Friday and on weekends.

  • Perform inpatient catheterization procedures and add-on cases.

  • Provide STEMI coverage and participate in night call.

  • Read and interpret echocardiograms.

  • Collaborate with APPs and hospitalists to provide comprehensive patient care.

  • Provide outpatient clinic coverage from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, on days not assigned to the inpatient service.

Practice Highlights

  • Weekday inpatient census: Approximately 8 10 patients.

  • Weekend inpatient census: Approximately 6 7 patients.

  • Average of 8 9 add-on catheterization procedures per week.

  • APP and hospitalist support available.

  • Clinic participation is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Ongoing coverage requirement of approximately two weeks per month.

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $380/hr

  • Night Call: $600

  • 24-Hour Call: $3,000

  • Call Back: $420/hr

Requirements

  • Board Certification in Interventional Cardiology required.

  • Ability to read and interpret echocardiograms.

  • Nebraska medical license or active IMLC highly preferred.

  • Current CV with complete work history, including hospital names and month/year date
