Coverage dates: December 18, 7:00 AM through January 1, 5:00 PM Practice setting: Inpatient/Call Staffed onsite weekdays: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM On-call weekday evenings: Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM On-call weekends: Saturday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AM Potential for some rounding responsibility STEMI call is aligned with unassigned call and noninvasive coverage Call volume includes approximately 159 STEMI activations in 2025 with a 47% cancellation rate Providers will receive more phone calls while on-call than emergent call backs, with STEMIs occurring slightly less than every other day Average of 2 inpatient admissions per physician per day Patient age demographic: Adult and geriatric Documentation system/EMR: EPIC Other interventional cardiologists will be present during locum coverage No supervision of other healthcare providers required Required procedures: Balloon Angioplasties, Coronary Angioplasty, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), Heart Catheterization, Medical Management of Vascular Disease, Coronary Angiograms, Embolic Protection, Carotid Artery Stenting, and Atherectomy Travel reimbursement provided for flight, hotel, and rental car Required certifications: Board Certified, BLS, ACLS Active Virginia state license required Clean malpractice history required Facility:
This facility is a well-established regional medical center offering a comprehensive range of inpatient and specialty services, including an active interventional cardiology program. With 250 total beds, including 30 ICU beds, the facility provides advanced cardiac care to adult and geriatric patients. The interventional cardiology team is supported by a robust group of cardiologists, and the facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system to ensure seamless and efficient patient care delivery.
