• STEMI and Call Coverage: Weekday evenings, Monday-Friday, 5:00 PM-7:00 AM; weekend call from Saturday at 7:00 AM through Monday at 7:00 AM
• Practice Setting: Inpatient interventional cardiology and call coverage with potential rounding responsibilities
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Average Inpatient Census: Approximately 2 admissions per physician per day
• Hospital: 250-bed hospital with a 30-bed ICU

• Credentialing: Emergency or temporary privileges may be available

Interventional Cardiologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent interventional cardiology experience
• Board certification in Cardiology or Interventional Cardiology
• Active Virginia medical license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Clean malpractice history
• Availability for the requested coverage dates
• Ability to provide all information needed for credentialing and privileging

Interventional Cardiology Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient interventional cardiology care and weekday onsite physician coverage
• Respond to STEMI alerts and other urgent cardiology call needs, including phone consultation and emergent callbacks as required
• Perform balloon angioplasty, coronary angioplasty, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), cardiac catheterization, and coronary angiography
• Provide medical management of vascular disease
• Perform or manage cases involving embolic protection, carotid artery stenting, and atherectomy
• Evaluate and treat adult and geriatric patients with acute and complex cardiovascular conditions
• Collaborate with experienced interventional cardiologists and the multidisciplinary care team
• Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in EPIC
• Provide patient care without supervisory responsibility for other healthcare providers
