Locums - Longview, Washington, Cardiology Job (IMLC Accepted)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 6 months

Reason for Coverage: Gap in coverage

FTE: 1.0

Schedule & Call Coverage:

  • Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

  • 8-hour daily shifts

  • Call requirement: 1:6 rotation, covering one week every sixth week

  • Weeknight evening call, Monday-Friday

  • 24-hour weekend call on Saturday and Sunday

Practice Details:

  • General cardiology

  • Inpatient and outpatient setting

  • 134-bed hospital

  • Approximately 13 patients per day

  • Rounding and admissions required

  • Patient population: Adults, ages 18+

  • EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with cardiovascular conditions

  • Provide inpatient admissions, consultations, and ongoing cardiovascular care

  • Arterial catheter insertion

  • Elective cardioversion

  • EKG interpretation and ambulatory monitoring

  • Central venous catheter placement

  • Transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography

  • Exercise and pharmacologic stress testing

  • Administration of antiplatelet, anticoagulant, and thrombolytic agents

  • Transcutaneous and temporary transvenous pacemaker placement

  • Emergency pericardiocentesis

  • Tilt-table testing

Additional Invasive Cardiology Privileges:

  • Coronary angiography

  • Right and left heart catheterization

  • Hemodynamic monitoring

  • Intra-aortic balloon pump insertion

  • Elective pericardiocentesis

  • Fluoroscopy use

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • General Cardiology

  • Active Washington medical license or IMLC accepted

Required Certification:

  • ACLS through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
